Terms

Last updated: 22 February 2026

Agreement to these terms

By using Diacrit, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

What Diacrit is

Diacrit is a URL queue. You share links from your phone, and retrieve them later from your terminal. That’s it.

No account

There are no usernames or passwords. Your device generates a random key on first launch. Disconnecting removes the link to your terminal but your queue is preserved — you can reconnect and regain access. If you uninstall the app, the key is gone and your queue is permanently inaccessible. This is by design.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Diacrit.

Your data is ephemeral

Diacrit is a queue, not an archive. Saved URLs are meant to be reviewed and discarded. We may delete queued items after 90 days of inactivity.

Your content

You retain ownership of any URLs and content you share to Diacrit. We don’t claim any intellectual property rights over your data. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store and transmit your data solely for the purpose of operating the queue.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Diacrit for anything illegal, abusive, or that would put unreasonable load on the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

Independent project

Diacrit is an independent project created by Brent Greeff. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, PBC.

Trademarks

Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners. Use of these names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply any association.

Official clients only

The Diacrit API is intended for use with official Diacrit apps and the official Claude Code plugin only. You may not access the API using unofficial clients, scripts, or tools without prior permission. We reserve the right to block any unauthorized access and to rate-limit or suspend keys that generate excessive usage.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We don’t guarantee uptime, data retention, or fitness for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Brent Greeff or any maintainers of Diacrit be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising from your use of the service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Diacrit at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (limitation of liability, governing law, disclaimers) will survive.

We can change or shut down the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Diacrit at any time without notice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. Continued use of Diacrit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
